Meet Meg Kloek and How Nutritional Therapy changed her life!

After Meg Kloek graduated from Vanderbilt University with a masters' degree in Human Development Counseling, her dream was to pursue campus ministry. She desired to help others grow in a relationship with God the way she had grown during her college years.

After one year on the campus as a minister, Meg was 25 years old and completely burned out. How could this be? Because she was not satisfied with being a tired 25 year-old, Meg began her quest to find health on a physical level. After finding health on an emotional and spiritual level, she knew that she was missing something.

At that point, she had been a vegetarian eating a mixture of bread, fruits, vegetables, ice cream, chocolate, and Starbucks. She felt like she was fairly healthy in her eating compared to other people.

However, after following a 40 day lifestyle change diet, her energy level came back and she began to enjoy the health that she had as a teenager! Instead of experiencing dramatic dips in energy levels throughout the day, Meg's energy had become strong and consistent all day!

The next two years as a campus minister was enjoyable as Meg had plenty of energy to pour into relationships with students. The recovery of her energy changed her ability to function at the potential in which she had desired for so many years!

After her last year on campus, Meg moved to Cape Town, South Africa in order to pursue a career in community development work at a school for at-risk youth. In Cape Town, it became clear that her dream was not complete. Meg saw a need to educate teachers about a healthy lifestyle that would increase their health so that they would be at full capacity to pour into the needs of their students.

Just as she had struggled with energy levels during campus ministry, many people in Cape Town had a similar need to regain their health.

Thus, the vision for The Green Umbrella was birthed. After returning to Minnesota, Meg received training as a Nutritional Therapist through Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (www.nutritionaltherapy.com) in order to fully launch into her dream. In 2010, this vision became a reality as Meg began to serve clients in Minnesota as a Nutritional Therapist.
